About us

Viñas de Luján project was born in 1998, selecting the zone most suitable for Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon cultivation, with the perfect combination of sandy-loam soils of indigenous vegetation. These soils had not been previously exploited by human being and have no chemical pollution, ideal for the development of organic viticulture. Due to these optimum conditions, that same year the company planted vineyards with the purpose of making, producing and marketing high-end wines (conventional and organic wines).

As the company works with exclusive products for organic winemaking, it has year after year a policy of deep-rooted social responsibility, where it protects both environment and people’s health. The firm has the constant follow-up and certification of the International Agricultural Organization (OIA). For United States, NOP standards; for Europe and South America, IFOAM standards; and for Japan, JAS standards.

The company’s vineyards are located at the foothills of the Andes Mountains, at 950 meters above sea level, in Alto Ugarteche, Luján de Cuyo. This area, known as prime wine region, at 43 km South West from Mendoza, in the Republic of Argentina, combines excellent loamy soils, wide temperature ranges, low rainfall, perfect sun exposure, all of which are factors typical of this terroir and ideal to grow fine grapes for making excellent wines. The project boasts 32 hectares, of which 18 ha are planted with Malbec and 14 ha with Cabernet Sauvignon.

No herbicides, pesticides or chemical fertilizers are used in the productive process, demanding a harder manual labor to obtain the ideal conditions of ventilation and lighting, and creating this way an environment in the vineyard not suitable for the development of plagues. The fertilization is carried out by organic fertilizers, from the mountain range.
