The third edition of the auction in aid of ‘Conciencia’ Association, organized by Wines of Argentina, took place on 22nd November at the British Embassy, in Buenos Aires.
In this opportunity, more than 2,000 bottles of wine were auctioned, wines that were finalists of the 2011 Argentina Wine Awards and donated by Wines of Argentina. Moreover, there were six emblematic exponents, old Malbecs considered “collector’s items”. Some of these wines were: 1984 Luigi Bosca Malbec Reserva; 1991 Luigi Bosca Malbec DOC; 1999 Nieto Senetiner Cadus and 1981 Finca Flichman Caballero de la Cepa. In this edition, the auction raised ARS 140,000.
The auction was conducted by the well-known journalist Bebe Contepomi and the raised funds will be earmarked for Conbeca, one of the programs of Conciencia, founded in 2003 to meet a concrete need: to offer opportunities and help teenagers in vulnerable situation to finish their secondary education. During the last three years of the secondary education, all participants receive a follow-up from a voluntary guide, who also manages their grants. This reward is complemented with workshops on values, voluntary services done by the beneficiaries and recreational excursions.
