About Finca Las Moras

Finca Las Moras is a pioneer winery dedicated to the elaboration of high-quality wines in San Juan since the restructuring of the vineyards developed by Richard Smart, in 1993. The vineyards, surrounded by mulberry trees, gave the name to the winery. San Juan, focused on Shiraz and Malbec together with Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc, is the new frontier for the production of fine wines in Argentina. The San Juan River is a vital source of irrigation in this region and provides it with melt water from the Andes, giving rise to the Zonda and Tulum Valleys, unlike the Pedernal Valley – considered today as the valley par excellence for growing the highest-quality grapes – that rose by glacier movements.  Bright sunshine and extremely dry weather make the valleys optimum for organic grape growing.

Finca Las Moras, with more than 1.100 hectares of vineyards planted in these valleys, is focused on sustainability, continuous innovation and micro regions exploration culture, granting its wine lines complexity and elegance. Las Moras Gran Shiraz is a summary of these factors that reflects the selection of the best Shiraz grapes from Pedernal Valley (1,350 meters), Zonda Valley (950 meters) and Tulum Valley (650 meters).

The winery’s concern about the environment, ethnic respect, and passionate winemaking, results in unique Argentinian wines. Wines in harmony with the earth.
