Its Reserva Bonarda 2013 awarded a gold medal at the World Wine Championship Award, with an outstanding scoring of 91 pts. Besides, it was distinguished as “Best Buy” by Tastings.com.
On the other hand, its Malbec Mendoza Caligiore 2012 received 89 pts from Wine Spectator, standing out for its fine and well-balanced flavors.
The winery, which makes ecological wines, achieved a Silver medal with its “Caligiore Reserve Bonarda” in the first contest devoted to this grape variety, “Bonarda Argentina”, held in the city of Mendoza.
The event gathered 40 participating wines from 24 wineries, and the judges assessed labels from ARS 35 to ARS 390.
Malbec 60% - Cabernet Sauvignon 40%
Sight: Red rubi color of medium intensity, brilliant and vivacious.
Nose: On the nose, it expresses a fine fragance of fresh red fruits like strawberries and cherries combined with a delicate oaky character of vanilla and milk toffy in the back taste. Cabernet Sauvignon is present through its spicy, white pepper and herbal notes.
Mouth: Balanced and fresh with excellent weight on the palate. Crispy and juicy.
Sight: Deep violet color with blue tinges.
Nose: Aromas that reminds of blackberry pie, cassis and anise notes together with delicate violets flowers and a subtle and light oaky backtaste giving this wine great complexity.
Mouth: The mouthfeel is full and unctuous, with excellent weight and supple texture. The lengthy finish shows wonderful minerality, with finely grained tannins and lively acidity.
Sight: Deep purple color with black tinges.
Nose: On the nose, many aromatic layers comes up as it remains in the glass, inviting to discover its complex bouquet. Black fruits and ripe plums backed by delicate tosted bread, coconut and chocolate notes.
Mouth: Textured and deep mouthfeel with velvety tannins and balanced acidity.
