The seventh edition of the international contest “Malbec al Mundo” was held in Mendoza, Argentina. This event, which is aimed at assessing the quality of examples from different parts of the globe, made clear once more that the country is the leader regarding the quality and preference for this grape variety.
This year, 280 samples were submitted to the competition. Most of them were from Argentina, followed by Chile. Moreover, the event gathered samples from Uruguay, Brazil, Ecuador, France, Spain, and Mexico.
Carelli winery was awarded a Gold medal for its Carelli Malbec 2009, a wine that displays notes of chocolate, vanilla and coffee in the nose with a strong presence of plums that enhances the varietal expression.
