The Malbec producer based in Mendoza (Argentina) went to Cahors to discover the birthplace of Malbec. There, Leonardo Erazo-Lynch, technical director of Alto Las Hormigas winery, is working on a “micro terroir” project to showcase the expression of Malbec on various soils in Cahors.
The winery decided to produce a “Terroir Malbec de Cahors” and sell it in United States. The intention was to create a pure and clean wine from that terroir, with balance and texture that would suite the palate of the North American market.
The wine will be released in January 2015.
