Organized by Bodegas de Argentina and conducted by Área del Vino, the eighth edition of the “Foro Internacional Vitivinícola” (International Wine Forum) entitled “Times of change for Argentine wines”, will gather international experts on different subject matters that will bring forward a global view on the wine business and a panorama of the new sceneries and trends in the national and international sector.
This year, the International Wine Forum will be carried out in two days and will bring together the most outstanding leaders and business men and women of the Argentine wine industry. The chosen place is Bodega Los Toneles – Mendoza, where a cycle of tastings will take place on Tuesday, September 18 and on Wednesday 19, a strategic analysis of viticulture at the hands of the international speakers. On this day, too, there will be a reunion lunch at the house of the winery, to which international speakers, the press, authorities and participants are invited.
Topics and speakers
“Times of change for Argentine wines” boasts a comprehensive program around current affairs such as economic context, global markets, marketing and competitiveness. Some speakers will be present at the forum, while others will deliver their lectures via videoconference.
Rafael del Rey, of Observatorio de Vino Español, will speak about “Europe’s productive and commercial restructuring” and Rob McMillan, of Sillicon Valley Bank – United States, will focus his lecture on “Competitiveness in the US market”.
From France, Yves Zlotowsky, of Coface, is presenting via videoconference “Argentina in the map of global risk”. After that, Huiqin Ma (Qin) from China Agricultural University will center her videoconference on “Where the Asian giant is going”.
Later on, three experts on international marketing from the United States will present their views on this topic via videoconference. Ronald Scharman, of e-Winery, will talk about “Direct-to-consumer sales as an alternative for small wineries”; Bob Ianetta, of Vinovisit, “Wine Tourism impact and consumers’ new behaviors” and Paul Wagner, of Balzac Communications & Marketing, will focus his presentation on “Towards a trendier marketing”.
Finally, Christian Felzensztein Jimenez from Universidad Adolfo Ibañez – Chile, is talking about “Competitiveness and international marketing strategies of companies in the wine business”, while Fabienne Grall, of Verallia – France, will deliver an interesting conference on “Sustainability demand expands over the world”.
