Argentine wineries celebrated St Valentine’s Day

On St Valentine’s Day, wineries offered original and delicious alternatives, combining tastes and styles. Lovers had the opportunity of sharing a unique experience, enjoying top-quality wines.

One of the wineries that offered a different option to commemorate 14th February was Séptima winery, carrying out an innovative program of exceptional sunsets. It consisted of tapas, winery’s still and sparkling wines, accompanied by live music. The special menu, prepared by renowned Chef Graciela Hisa, included different canapés and a dessert tasting to end the dinner. The wines matching with the menu were Séptima and Séptimo Día lines, and among sparkling lines, María Codorniú Sur Extra Brut and Pinot Noir. The finishing touch was an incredible sunset along with a selection of pop, jazz, bossa and ballad songs, played live by Tiffy Crawford and Sam Aspee on guitar.

For its part, Chandon proposed a taste and aroma pairing and a menu called “Chandon San Valentín Appetize” in its restaurant in Mendoza. Moreover, the winery offered attractive alternatives in supermarkets and wine shops. One of them consisted of a set of glasses specially designed for the occasion as a gift when buying two bottles of Chandon. Besides, several promotions were done in restaurants.

In addition, Viniterra winery celebrated “St Valentine’s week” by means of a very special alternative. Those people that had lunch or dinner in some of the winery’s 4 premises during St Valentine’s week and ordered some of Viniterra’s varietal wines, received as a gift a bottle of  Viniterra Pinot Grigio, Premium wine line of the winery.

NQN winery also took part in St Valentine’s Day celebration at Malma Resto Bar, giving people the opportunity to tour the most beautiful vineyards in Patagonia and to enjoy the wines and cuisine of this region. Visitors were entertained with a welcome glass of Malma Cuvee Reserve Extra Brut, which was distinguished by the Austral Spectator’s 2010 Guide: “Vineyards, Wineries & Wines of Argentina”, accompanied by a special menu.

Furthermore, Familia Schroeder’s restaurant from Patagonia also wanted to be present on St Valentine’s Day, with a menu based on signature cuisine and barbecued specialties. Dishes were paired with “Espumante Deseado”.

While some wineries leant towards wines, cuisine, and music for St Valentine’s Day celebration, Trivento Bodegas y Viñedos developed an application for lovers to send Valentine cards.

Daniela Gonzalez, from Flichman winery, highlighted that all couples who visited the winery on 14th February, apart from the guided tour, they received as a gif a bottle of Finca Flichman Extra Brut, awarded a gold medal in the 2011 AWA contest.
