“Papán like Champán” – The anecdote of the Bodega Piattelly’s winemaker

“My relationship with wine started before childhood. When I was only a baby, my first word was no ‘papa’ (dad), but ‘papán’ (for Champán, Champagne’s pronunciation in Argentina). My father was a renowned winemaker who excelled in sparkling wines. My early years went by among vineyards and wineries with my sister and cousins.
I studied at the Liceo Agrícola, and then I continued with Agronomy at university. My father used to say: “Winemaking starts in the vineyards”. When I was in my last years of Agronomy, I decided to gain experience by participating in two harvests abroad.
Today I work at Piattelli Vineyards, and I have done eight harvests here, taking care of the vineyards and the winemaking.
Piattelli is not only a job for me, it is my life. It is where I decided to stay, marry and live my first pregnancy.”
