90 years of history

In the next few months, Los Toneles winery will celebrate 90 years from its inception until today, leaving an indelible mark on the wine industry in Argentina. Its history is a symbol of work, honesty and perseverance. In 1883, Dalmacio Armando, an Italian inmigrant, arrived in Mendoza and established a winery in Guaymallén.

His son, Santiago, continues his work. He invested his savings in vats and equipment, but he needed funds for expenses. Thanks to his reputation and honesty, he asked the bank for a loan of $ 2,000 and get an unsecured loan of $ 20,000, founding the winery in 1922. So the first name of the winery was “Armando Brothers”, in honor of its founders and later it changed to “Los Toneles” because of the oak barrels resting in it. In 2002, the local business group “Millán SA” acquired the winery, restored it and released premium wines.
