Debra Meiburg MW Debra Meiburg MW: A long-time resident of Hong Kong, Debra Meiburg is a celebrated wine journalist, TV personality, wine educator and in-demand speaker who is pleasing palates across Asia with her fresh take on the world of wine. Awarded Master of Wine, the highest wine honour, Debra has an on-line video series named Meet-the-Winemaker and her latest venture is a video series of one minute wine tips to 40 million viewers in mainland China taxis. She has a serious tongue for wine, but is a little tongue in cheek. She has worked harvest in Chile, pruned vines in Bordeaux and was a cellar-hand in New York and South Africa. A widely respected wine judge, she recently founded and is director of the world’s first truly Asian wine competition, the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirit Competition.
Liz Thach Liz Thach: Holder of a PhD in Human Resource Development from Texas A & M from University, she is a professor of Management and Wine Business at Sonoma State University, where she gives lessons in both undergraduate course and wine MBA curriculum. She is an expert in Wine Business Strategy, Human Resources and Leadership development. He has worked as consultant and carried out research projects for over 40 wineries of different countries. With Paul Wagner and Janeen Olsen, she wrote the book “Wine Marketing & Sales, Strategies for a Saturated Market” which won the Gourmand International Award in 2008..
Paul Wagner Paul Wagner: President of Balzac Communications & Marketing (United States), he is an instructor for Napa Valley College’s Viticulture and Enology department and for Culinary Institute of America. Being a columnist of Vineyards & Winery Management Magazine and a founding member of the Academy of Wine Communications, he has lectured throughout the world on communications, wine, marketing and other public affairs.
Fabricio Portelli Fabricio Portelli: He has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and he is a professional sommelier. He is director at El Conocedor Magazine and CEO of GRUPO SIMPOSIUM S.A. He is a wine journalist in charge of the edition of El Conocedor Magazine; Dos de Copas TV program; “Descorchados” the International Wine Guide, with Patricio Tapia; the yearbook Anuario Brascó – Portelli, with Miguel Brascó; Jumbo Wine Guide; “Vinos de Lujo”and En Primeur Magazine. Fabricio has judged in several international wine competitions including Decanter World Wine Awards and Concours Mondial, among others. Apart from being professor of sommelier, he has worked as Director of the Sommelier’s Degree at Gato Dumas Collage (2005 – 2007).
Andrés Rosberg Andrés Rosberg: Professional sommelier, president and founding member of the Argentine Sommelier Association. He is also the Secretary of the Pan-American Sommelier Alliance, and a member of the Didactic Committee of the International Sommelier Association. He has also organized and judged in several wine contests where the best sommeliers from different countries such as Argentina, Chile, Brazil and Uruguay are awarded. Likewise, he has participated as judge of competitions in America and Europe, including “The best World Sommelier” contests in 2007. Since 2009, he is member of the jury of the China Sommelier Wine Challenge and the Decanter World.
Mariano Braga Mariano Braga: He is sommelier and has a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, specialized in wine marketing. Besides, he is editor of WINE+ Magazine, member of F.I.J.E.V. (Fédération Internationale des Journalistes et Ecrivains des Vins et Spiritueux), Sommelier Magazine’s columnist (a wine magazine from Peru), and part of EL Disfrute radio program. He also works as professor at Gato Dumas Collage in Buenos Aires. Mariano has written some articles in Mexico, Chile and Spain, participating in different books and TV programs related to gastronomy, wines and tourism.
Edgardo Castro Edgardo Castro: Industrial Designer and specialist in Graphs. He is professor of Final Graphic Design at the Faculty of Arts and Design (Universidad Nacional de Cuyo). He has also written different academic and cultural publications. Moreover, he has judged in different design project contests, such as Poster for the National Grape Harvest Festival (Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia), Wine Labels of the “Bolsa de Comercio de Mendoza”, among others). Some of his works are part of the “Bienal Iberoamericana de diseño 2010” design exhibition, which takes place in different countries of Europe and Asia.
Adriana de la Mota Adriana de la Mota: Holder of a Postgraduate degree as University Professor in Applied Biology, she has made some courses about Red and White wine Vinification at Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. She is director and editor of “Vides y Vinos”, editor of the Guide of Introduction to the Wine Tasting Art. Besides, she is consultant and winemaker at SOLANDES Argentina and she worked as high-end wine consultant in domestic and foreign market affairs. Moreover, Adriana has been holder of a chair of Enology II at the Universidad Tecnológica Nacional (UTN).
Área del Vino Área del Vino: A team of Art, Design and Communication professionals, who are in charge of products such as The International Yearbook of Wineries and Wines of Argentina, Wines Directory, www.areadelvino.com, www.winesur.com , Vinos & Viñas Magazine, Fincas supplement (Los Andes Journal). Moreover Area del Vino team organizes the International Wine Forum and others events.
